{ Background Bonus HarP }
Criteria
The Background bonus points depend on the composition of a background!
Backgrounds must contain a few elements to properly create a landscape or setting that isn't too abstract to be discernible.
Additionally, a Canon Location bonus may be claimed when depicting canon ARPG locations.

Backgrounds must fulfill the following requirements to count for HarP:
• The artwork must consist of a visual, literary, crafted, or animated medium
• Visual, crafted, and animated works may not contain literary backgrounds, and vice versa.
• The artwork must consist of a middle ground and either a foreground or background.
• At minimum, the artwork must contain four (4) different and easily-discernible background elements ( e.g. sky, clouds, trees, buildings, rivers, mountains ).
• Clusters of the same element only count as one element, but the same element on different parts of the composition ( e.g. trees on the foreground and trees on the background ) may count as different elements.

Composition
A Background may earn more HarP value if it's composed in a specific way.
Regular Background
• Any background that meets the above requirements will count towards a regular background.
Canon Location
• A canon location background consists of a background that follows the description of a canon Kósmos Location.
• At minimum, the canon location must be discernible somewhere in the background composition for visual work; and must be in roughly 25% of the story for literary work.
