Giant Spider Silk Gathering
The forest that leads to Velocity Range has been infested with Giant Spiders and their webs again! Which means it's Kósmos Silk Gathering season... a tradition no one enjoys.
Silk is oftentimes gathered from the small Kósmos silkworms, but silk is greatly used by artisans and crafters alike, and Kósmos's more developed settlements depend on it.
The silk Giant Spiders produce is the finest there is, and they produce far more than they need. Still, folktales speak of Giant Spiders that have taken the heads of those who've tried stealing from them to show as trophies, and fed their young ones the bodies that remained.
As you approach the forest, the tales become more and more gruesome, and you wonder if you'll be able to stand your ground if you face one of these vicious creatures...

Itule's Living Woods
Have you heard of the Itule Woods? It's said that they're beautiful.
It's also said that they're perilous.
According to the dwellers of Itule Ala, the infamous Itule Woods are not to be trifled with. While some tell stories of magnificent beings and wondrous treasures, others begrudgingly recall memories of violent monsters and cruel misfortunes.
Some say the trees have exquisite aromas that grant you the loveliest of dreams, and some say the trees twist and whisper to guide you to your very death.
Some say the flowers come in a variety of shapes and colors, and others say they come with sharp teeth and a hunger for meat.
Although the folktales are quite contradictory, there's one thing all dwellers seem to note: nature in Itule Woods is more alive than you're used to. With whispering leaves, and moving branches, Itule Ala's dwellers make sure their children go nowhere close the sapient trees... and those with better consciences— or worse scars— even go out of their way to stop newcomers from getting too close.
Still, there's always a dweller of the Kósmos who's too courageous— or perhaps too ignorant— and decides to venture forth, in hopes that they can see with their own eyes what the Itule Woods hold, and live to tell the tale.

Prompt Criteria
Depict your Eláfkeri exploring the Itule Woods. What did the woods morph into for your Eláfkeri? Perhaps a gentle forest full of friendly wildlife? Or maybe just a regular one, with its leaf piles and one or two animal dens? Was it maybe darker than that, with violently sharp branches, and dangerously poisonous mushrooms?

Stranger at the Village
One night, you're awakened by a gentle but harried knock on your door. It's Moss, a young dweller that's usually cheerful, but gets easily scared.
They have to gulp and clear their throat before they can manage a coherent sentence, but even then they have to take deep breaths as they speak.
There's a strange creature outside the village, they say. One no one's seen around before. They say the creature was wearing strange, dark clothing that made them difficult to spot, but that they had stark white eyes that never seemed to blink. Moss gulps again, and their knees seem to begin shaking in fear at the memory.
Moss ends their frightful story by telling you that the stranger seemed to want to enter the village, but stood by the entrance instead, as if waiting to be welcomed, or invited.
You're not sure it's anything to worry about, since Moss seems to be scared by the very grass sometimes, but you agree to go check, anyway.
When you get there, you notice that Moss was right: a creature whose shape you can't quite make out is confined by pitch black robes, and their eyes stare right through you with incandescent light, as if they had followed your movement since you opened your door to Moss.
Without seeing their mouth move— or without seeing any mouth at all— you hear low, almost practiced words reach your ears.
"Good evening, my friend. May I come in?"
